Subject: Some organizational and logistical information

Dear Chapter members,

In these days the Working Document for the GC26 prepared by the Precapitular Commission has already been sent, or will shortly be sent, to you. I now wish to give you some organizational and logistical information concerning your participation in the GC26.

The General Chapter begins at Turin with a pilgrimage to the salesian holy places. This pilgrimage is part and parcel of the Chapter itself and takes place from the 23rd to the 25th of February, 2008. The arrival in Turin is scheduled for 14.00 on Saturday, the 23rd of February, when you will be assigned your rooms and hotels.

There are two ways of reaching Turin:

For those coming to the Generalate in Rome, the departure of the coach from Rome has been fixed for 6.30 a.m. in the morning of Saturday, the 23rd of February. They may arrive at the Generalate any day before that. On Monday, the 25th of February, they will leave Turin for Rome by coach in the afternoon.

For those planning to arrive in Turin by car, the meeting-point is the courtyard of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians at 14.00 on the 23rd of February. On Monday, the 25th of February, they will drive to Rome in the afternoon, using their own cars.

It is important that you inform Fr. Saimy Ezhanikatt of your choice as soon as possible, viz. whether you intend to make use of the coach from the Generalate to Turin or you prefer to make your own way to Turin by car. Fr. Saimy’s e-mail address is: sezhanikatt@sdb.org

Those who need an invitation letter to obtain the entry visa to Italy should contact Fr. Francesco Maraccani by the 30th of November. His e-mail address is: fmaraccani@sdb.org

The final date for the conclusion of the Chapter has been fixed for Friday, the 18th of April, 2008: there will be the concluding speech of the Rector Major, the celebration of the Eucharist and a parting dinner.

With my cordial greetings to you in Don Bosco,

Fr. Francesco Cereda
