Provincials of the Interamerican Region meet to discuss Social Communications on 20 and 21 October, 2004, at Guadalajara, Mexico.
Perù – Fr Scaramussa: “Nowadays we have to speak about communication”
(ANS – Lima, 10 November 2004) - A flying visit to the Perù Province by Fr Tarcisio Scaramussa, General Councillor for Social Communication. Between 2 and 4 November with a crowded schedule of engagements he visited various production centres of social communication. These included the Salesian Communication Centre (TV, Bulletin), the bookshop, the press, the Pax TV broadcasting station. He said he was pleased with all the work that had been done in recent years, and encouraged everyone to continue in the style of Don Bosco. In a meeting with the Provincial and his Council he concentrated on the Message of the Rector Major to the members of the Salesian Advisory Body for Social Communication which met in Rome on 25 July 2004. “Nowadays we have to speak about communication. We can’t limit ourselves to the work we are doing in our centres. We have to know and use the media, work with the media” Fr Tarcisio said.
