Italy – The work of the Salesian Bulletin editors continues
ANS - Rome, 7 September 2005 - Fr Giancarlo Manieri the Editor of the Italian Bulletin opened the third day of the meeting “The Salesian Bulletin around the world” tracing the progress made in recent years by the traditional magazine and indicated possibilities for the future in order to make it an ever more relevant means of communication. The subsequent contribution of Luigi Accattoli, Vatican correspondent for the Corriere della Sera, was particularly appreciated. Starting from his own wealth of experience he encouraged the Editors of the Salesian Bulletin to accept their more marginal role in Catholic publishing in comparison with the wider one of the commercial press and at the same time to develop the innate potential of the religious press: providing reports of Christian life and of genuine acts of charity rather than mere words. In the afternoon the editors from around the world took a break from their work in order to visit the city.
