Ukraine - Eurovision Song Contest 2017: winners are Salesian Past Pupils
Kiev, Ukraine - May 2017 - Salvador Sobral and Luísa Sobral, Salesian past pupils from Lisbon in Portugal, won the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest with a song entitled "Amar pelos dois". Luísa is the author and Salvador the performer.
Spain – Start of the Digitization Project of the Spanish Salesian Bulletin
Madrid, Spain - May 2017 – At a meeting on 19 April, the Provincial Councillors of the Provinces of St James the Greater in Madrid and Mary Help of Christians in Seville approved the digitization of over 30,000 pages of the Salesian Bulletin of Spain from 1886 to the present.
Italy - Launch of the book “L’Uomo del Mare” (The Man of the Sea).
Rome, Italy - May 2017 - On 15 May, at the Walter Tobagi Hall of the Italian National Printing Federation (FNSI), the launch took place of the volume "L’Uomo del Mare” The Man of the Sea" (LEV 2017).

Italy - Sixth Salesian Communication Days
Rome, Italy - April 2017 - The "Salesian Communication Days" were held: on 28 and 29 April at the Salesian Pontifical University. About 160 young people in initial formation for the Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and other members of the Salesian Family studied the Popes message for the 51st World Social Communications Day. The Salesian Communication Days are the result of collaboration between the Departments of Social Communication and of Formation of the Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the Faculty of Social Communication Sciences of the Salesian Pontifical University and the Pontifical Faculty of Education Sciences at "Auxilium" in Rome.
