Munich 10 – 13 May 2009
Conclusions:
What |
Who |
When? |
1. We will continue with what we deem to be valid criteria for continuing the process of renewal and qualification of the SB in terms of quality indicators, challenges, common lines of action agreed on in Rome 2005. To these we add the following... |
All SBs |
Over the next three years |
2. Each one will draw up its own editorial policy and handbook containing the common universal points (identity, editorial policy) and its own organisational details (policies, editorial and administrative councils). |
All SBs |
In the following year |
3. Editors to share photos, news, articles and experiences which are an expression of Project Europe. This will involve a common area on the 'net' set up by the Department where they can submit and download materials to share or of which they are in need. |
All SBs |
In the following year |
4. Decisively enter, respecting local processes and contexts, the new technological and virtual circumstances new technologies are generating a new culture and new ways of relating, thus changing also the language and the target, for both printed and virtual communications. |
All SBs |
Over the next three years |
5. Begin, with the help of the Department and in line with need and possibilities, an on line SB, quite different from a pdf version. This does not substitute the printed form since each has its own specific target. |
All SBs |
Over the next three years |
6. Human beings today give much importance to graphic composition and photos, which introduce the reader to the text, and which also communicate in their own right Therefore there is a need to study the graphic composition and way of introducing photos which communicate; those which accompany a text always need to have their own appropriate captions. |
Each SB |
Over the next three years |
7. The SB belongs to the Congregation and the Rector Major's article gives unity in the diversity around the world. It will be necessary to adapt it to the target for each SB, summing up its main ideas in attractive, simple, and journalistically up-to-date language. |
Each SB |
Over the next three years |
8. The SB is an important part of the institutional image, and so needs to be integrated into the SSCS and the SC Plan for the Province |
Each SB, Department |
Over the next three years |
9. There is a need for reflection, opinion and for exchange of articles on certain European situations which challenge us strongly as educators, evangelisers, communicators: inter-culturalism, relativism, secularism, Islamism, nihilism, weakening of public institutions and figures (Government, Politics, Church, Congregation). |
All SBs |
Over the next three years |
10. The next meeting in three years time is a good way off, so we desire an annual gathering to look at how we are moving forward |
All SBs |
Following year |
11. There is need for coordination and general animation, frequent communication and systematic accompaniment from the Department |
All SBs |
Followingthree years |
