According to UNICEF estimates more than 3,000 children and teenagers live on the streets in La Paz, Bel Alto, Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, Tarija and Sucre. They do their best to survive. There can be many reasons why a child can end up on the street then disappear bit by bit like dust or animals without food or essential care. In Bolivia Don Bosco and his Salesians have a project for these kids. They are carrying it out tenaciously and hopefully, thanks to the help of many lay people and volunteers. The first step is to get to know the kids on the street, where they live. Then they offer them a safe place where they can feel at home. Then the chance to attend school and learn a trade so they can live an honest life.
