The DON BOSCO IN ROME itinerary aims to bring to life the crucial years of Don Bosco, which saw him engaged in the establishment of the Salesian Congregation and the Salesian Constitutions.
A itinerary begins in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, where you can still feel the emotion of that 16 May 1887. Don Bosco, by then tired and ill, wanted to celebrate his only Mass at the altar of Mary Help of Christians in the church he had always dreamt of and built with immense sacrifice.
That morning, however, the altar was transformed into a river of emotions: the Saint of Youth interrupted himself fifteen times in tears, unable to contain his emotion. Every word was a thanksgiving, every tear an offering of love to the Lord and to the young people to whom he had dedicated his life. Don Bosco himself, shortly afterwards, confided in simple and profound words:
"I found it very difficult to celebrate. I felt as if I were among my boys and could see the whole scene of my life before me."
The tour then continues to the DON BOSCO HOUSE MUSEUM in ROME, where all the visitors can enjoy a unique experience, thanks to the new immersive museum, which uses virtual reality to allow visitors to relive and experience first-hand the most touching moments in Don Bosco's history in the capital.
Today, booking a visit to the museum is even easier: there is an effective online booking system to reserve your place on the tour in a few simple steps.
